About Embark Dog Training

At Embark, I strive to make training as fun and stress free as possible. With all the information out there, it can be overwhelming and exhausting trying to figure out how to tackle frustrating behaviors. My goal is to alleviate that frustration by teaching you proven techniques that will yield the results you desire, and allow you and your pup to enjoy the training process.

By utilizing a reward-based training style, you can rest assured that we will never use aversive tools. These include but are not limited to prong collars, shock collars, slip leads, alpha rolls, physical corrections, or anything regarding dominance theory. We focus on setting your pup up for success and teaching wanted behaviors rather than punishing unwanted behaviors. My relationship-based approach fosters a trusting, cooperative connection, that further enriches the lives of both of you. Work with me, and you too can become one of the 7 in 10 people who consider their dog their best friend!

Along with my professional certification, I am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and I am dedicated to continuing my dog training education through professional seminars and learning workshops to keep up with the most innovative, positive, dog training techniques.

Hi! I'm Pamela, a certified honors graduate from Animal Behavior College and founder of Embark Dog Training.

My love for dogs began at a very early age, but my passion for dog training began in 2010 when I became a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind while in college. Through the Guiding Eyes for the Blind organization, because of the puppy I raised, someone visually impaired received a guide dog with absolutely no charge to them- it was truly an amazing feeling.

I continued my education and earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a Masters degree in Social Work, but quickly realized my passion was still in training dogs. It was then I decided to get my certification through Animal Behavior College. My goal with each client is to teach you the skills and dynamics of reward-based dog training so that you can continue to see your pups transformation and train confidently far beyond our sessions together.

I look forward to helping you with your new or existing furry loved one!

What Clients Say

"I cannot say enough good things about Embark Dog Training and Pamela Ferrante. We started with a puppy that didn't even know his name let alone any commands- after training with her we have a whole new puppy. I even had to confide in her we were hating our puppy by the end of each night. She was just amazing with so much patience with all of us. She trained our puppy and us. If you are considering looking for a trainer, Pamela is it!!!"

Core Values
Embark Dog Training's Core Values
Respect

I treat all of my clients the way I would want to be treated; professionally, with kindness and compassion. I respect your wishes as a dog guardian on what we work on & how fast or slow we move, and I treat your furry loved one the same way.

Fun

If I haven't made it clear enough already, I believe training should be fun!!! We take breaks when necessary & never want to overwhelm the pup. Your dog will stay engaged, learn more quickly, and you will be happy with the results & more likely to continue the training!

Ambition

I want your dog to succeed just as much as you do. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the progress each of my clients make. That said, I am always striving to be a better trainer and I will do whatever I can to help you achieve your training goals.
